Job summary

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Intermediate Care and Community Therapy Team in Newton Abbot, working 33.5 hours per week.

You will deliver patient-centred occupational therapy across community and intermediate care settings, manage your own caseload, collaborate with GPs, Consultants, nurses and physiotherapists, and contribute to safe, timely discharges while benefiting from strong clinical support and development

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with NHS experience in community care.
• Experience in intermediate care and multis-disciplinary teams.
• Committed to patient-centred care and safe discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred occupational therapy across community settings.
• Manage your own caseload across a wide range of conditions and levels of complexity.
• Work closely with GPs, Consultants, Nurses, Paramedics, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, and other professionals.
• Prevent avoidable hospital admissions and facilitate timely, safe discharges.
• Participate in weekend and evening rota (no overnight on-call).
• Engage in internal rotation opportunities to diversify clinical skills.
