Job summary

Hampshire County Council’s Children and Families Occupational Therapy Service is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with HCPC to lead high‑risk cases and deliver person-centred assessments. You’ll supervise a team, mentor students and colleagues, and work across East Hampshire with offices in Havant, Alton and Basingstoke.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and Occupational Therapy qualification required.
• Experience in paediatric and/or adults’ social care, community or hospital settings.
• Understanding of local government social care duties and children’s legislation; knowledge of moving and handling issues.
• Ability to supervise and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Skilled in leading assessments, managing a demanding caseload and prioritising tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex casework: assess, plan and manage high-risk cases, including home adaptations and moving/handling plans.
• Provide regular supervision and support to Occupational Therapists, students and Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Oversee service delivery: review waiting lists, authorise referrals, allocate cases and brief team members.
• Foster partnerships with Health professionals, local councils and Housing Associations.
• Encourage ongoing professional development and training within the team.
