Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Children and Families Occupational Therapy Service. You will deliver person-centred assessments, empower children to perform daily activities, and lead on high-risk and complex cases while guiding junior staff.

The role supports service users across East Hampshire with hybrid working arrangements and requires HCPC registration. The position offers a market supplement and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Experience in paediatric and/or adults’ social care, community or hospital services.
• Understanding of local government social care duties and child-related legislation; moving and handling knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex high-risk cases and plan home adaptations.
• Provide supervision to Occupational Therapists, students and assistants.
• Review waiting lists, authorise referrals, allocate and brief team members.
• Collaborate with health professionals, councils and housing associations.
• Promote training opportunities and ongoing professional development.
