Job summary

Busy Bees Canterbury is seeking a Senior Nursery Room Leader to oversee multiple rooms and ensure seamless integration of educational strategies across the centre. You will lead and inspire the team to achieve high standards of care and learning on a busy site in Canterbury.

The role requires Level 3 EY qualifications or higher, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and continuous improvement.

• Proven leadership experience in an early years setting.
• Strong communication, organisational and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure educational strategies are consistent across multiple rooms.
• Plan and deliver activities, adapting curriculum for diverse children.
• Mentor Room Leaders and foster a collaborative, high-performing team.
• Oversee wellbeing and safeguarding of children, including additional needs support.
• Maintain strong relationships with parents and keep them informed of development.
• Ensure health, safety and safeguarding protocols are followed centre-wide.

What To Expect As a Senior Nursery Room Leader

• Ensure that educational strategies and practices are consistent across multiple rooms.
• Lead the planning and delivery of activities, adapting the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of the children.
• Mentor and develop Room Leaders, promoting a collaborative and high-performing team.
• Oversee the wellbeing and safeguarding of children, making necessary adaptations to support children with additional needs.
• Foster strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed of their child's development.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding protocols across the centre.

Ideal Candidate

• Level 3 qualification or above in early years education.
• Experience in an early years setting, with supervisory or leadership experience ideally as a Senior Nursery Room Leader, Senior Nursery Room Manager or Senior Nursery Practitioner.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for both children and team members.
