Job summary

St Peter & St James Hospice is seeking an experienced Quality Lead Nurse to drive quality improvement, patient safety and governance across the hospice. You will work with the Care Director and clinical teams to embed standards and regulatory excellence, promoting best practice and compliant governance aligned with PSIRF.

You will collaborate with the Southern Hospice Group and regional networks to shape improvements that enhance outcomes and ensure safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current registration.
• Significant post-registration clinical experience.
• Experience in a senior clinical leadership role.
• Demonstrable experience of quality improvement, patient safety and governance.
• Excellent understanding of governance processes, risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Strong knowledge of patient safety frameworks and quality improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Support the Care Director to embed quality, safety and governance practices.
• Lead PSIRF implementation across the hospice and drive safety priorities.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and clinical teams to deliver quality improvements.
• Analyse incidents to identify trends and support reviews of safety concerns.
• Develop and implement improvement plans to enhance patient safety and care quality.
• Provide governance advice on risk management, IPC, regulatory compliance and patient safety.
