Senior Nurse Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust

Job Overview

As a senior nurse, you will provide high-quality primary care services and a range of specialist interventions for offenders at HMP Elmley. Our services include nurse-led primary care, emergency response, and first night in custody/new registration services. You will maintain effective case management, ensure timely clinics and consultations, and promote health and disease prevention within the prison setting.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver clinical care in line with NHS standards and frameworks.
  2. Support and supervise junior staff, ensuring clinical supervision and training.
  3. Manage complex clinical caseloads and support continuous quality improvement.
  4. Ensure effective care planning, record-keeping, and confidentiality.
  5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
  6. Lead in emergency responses and manage clinical resources effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Registered Nurse with relevant qualifications.
  • Experience in primary or prison healthcare is preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make critical decisions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
