Professional Development Nurse in End of Life Care

Job Overview

This role involves supporting the development of clinical skills in end-of-life care, providing mentorship, facilitating work-based learning, designing in-house curricula, and delivering teaching in end-of-life care. The post holder will act as an expert clinical advisor and leader, supporting community teams to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care that is safe, effective, and cost-efficient. Additionally, developing clinical governance through monitoring, supporting, and implementing clinical standards is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Autonomous assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Participate in training patients, relatives, carers, students, and healthcare professionals.
  • Lead and develop the team through effective leadership and personal development.
  • Possess excellent communication, assessment, and care planning skills, with a thorough knowledge of clinical standards.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven senior nurse experience at Band 6 or equivalent in an acute or community setting (minimum two years).
  • Community nursing experience.
  • Experience in end-of-life care or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in collaboration, negotiation, change management, teaching, mentoring, clinical supervision, and auditing.
