Job summary

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill seeks an experienced Senior Nurse to lead and develop the nursing team within a busy acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) for adult males. You will oversee shifts, supervise staff, deliver therapeutic interventions and uphold high standards of safe, person-centred care.

You will work with multidisciplinary colleagues, support recruitment and retention, provide clinical supervision, and deputise for the Ward Manager when required, contributing to a culture

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shifts and manage nursing team
• Act as named or associate nurse on duty
• Deliver and evaluate therapeutic interventions
• Support multidisciplinary working
• Help patients develop coping strategies
• Supervise and mentor colleagues and student nurses
• Provide clinical supervision
• Support safe staffing and contribute to recruitment and retention
• Undertake ward leadership responsibilities and deputise for Ward Manager
• Promote learning and continuous improvement
