Job summary

Westlakes Recruit Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Waste Engineer to support a leading nuclear organisation delivering decommissioning and radioactive waste management programmes. You will provide authoritative advice across waste management, characterisation and regulatory compliance.

The role involves preparing and reviewing waste documentation, leading BAT and optioneering studies, and mentoring junior staff within project teams and the wider waste supply chain.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in radioactive waste management and characterisation within nuclear sector.
• Ability to lead small teams and mentor junior staff.
• Experience producing or reviewing waste inventories and technical documentation.
• Strong knowledge of UK nuclear waste regulatory framework and related processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review waste and characterisation documentation.
• Support bids and lead BAT and optioneering studies.
• Provide technical input to customers and act as interface across project teams and waste supply chain.
• Produce or review waste management and characterisation plans and related documentation.
