Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Waste Consultant to lead and deliver a portfolio of nuclear waste management projects in the UK and abroad. You will manage projects from inception to completion, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff.

You will provide technical leadership on waste characterisation, treatment, storage, and disposal, while supporting business growth and client engagement across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC qualification, preferably with a science or engineering degree.
• Extensive relevant experience with strong technical knowledge and leadership.
• Ability to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Strong understanding of engineering design principles in complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex nuclear waste management projects from inception to completion.
• Provide technical leadership in waste management, including waste characterisation, treatment, storage, and disposal.
• Develop and implement waste management strategies in line with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk evaluations and feasibility studies to support decisions.
• Act as client contact and build strong relationships.
• Prepare technical presentations, reports, and documentation.
