Job Description:

A leading provider of innovative laser systems to help people in various global markets, including renewables, microelectronics, research, life science, automotive, and medicine. We seek an experienced Senior NPI Reliability Engineer to work as part of the design and development team on cutting-edge laser products.

The role involves working alongside mechanical and optical teams to ensure design for manufacturing and reliability during development. Responsibilities include developing test plans, analyzing data, supporting optical development, providing DFX feedback, and ensuring product compliance through HALT/HASS testing.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct hands-on testing on systems and components, gathering data with various instruments.
• Perform environmental testing, material testing, and process optimization to identify weaknesses.
• Influence design and manufacturing considerations, including FMEA and DFX principles.
• Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, and external test facilities.
• Gather customer validation data in collaboration with field service.
• Maintain lab standards, create reliability models, and analyze data statistically.
• Build prototype and pilot laser systems, define and test production tooling.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in manufacturing, especially transfer from design to production in high-tech environments.
• Experience in reliability testing and understanding failure lifecycles.
• Degree in science, technology, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of vibration, statistical analysis, and reliability principles.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and quick learning skills.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Knowledge of NPI process, project planning, PLM software, and optical systems.
• Experience with Python, C#, LabVIEW, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
