Frontier Resourcing LTD is partnering with a leading defence and manufacturing company to appoint an experienced NPI Engineering Manager. This senior role leads the industrialisation of new products from concept through production, delivering on quality, cost and delivery targets in a highly regulated setting.

You will head cross-functional teams, drive stage-gate processes, champion DfM/DFT/DFC, and coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure component availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical, Electronic, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years in a leadership/management role within manufacturing.
• Strong electronics manufacturing knowledge (PCBA, SMT, CCA, microelectronics).
• Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle) and PLM software.
• Familiarity with PFMEA, RCCA, ATE, quality improvement techniques.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs and manufacturing docs.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing processes (CNC, automation, welding, heat treatment).
• Knowledge of PRINCE2 or PMP and MS Project/Smartsheet is a plus.
• Experience in Aerospace/Defence/Space or highly regulated industries; AS9100/AS9145/APQP/PPAP knowledge.
• Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

Responsabilités

• Lead cross-functional teams from RFQ/concept to full production handover.
• Manage products through AS9145/APQP stage-gate processes.
• Champion DfM, DfT and DfC principles in design for manufacturability.
• Drive MRL assessments and Production Readiness Reviews.
• Conduct PFMEA, FMEA and RCCA activities to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with Procurement and suppliers for component availability.
• Develop manufacturing plans, tooling strategies and production processes.
• Establish baselines for cost, schedule, quality and scope; report to senior stakeholders.
• Chair NPI Gate Reviews, Design Reviews and Production Readiness Reviews.
• Coordinate activities across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Programme Management.
