Job summary

QinetiQ is seeking a Senior Noise & Vibration Engineer to support the UK submarine fleet, providing independent technical assurance and specialist advice on acoustic stealth, noise and vibration performance. The role includes reviewing submarine systems, assessing changes and risks, and delivering evidence-based recommendations to defence stakeholders.

You will work with the Submarine Delivery Agency and customers, travel to Bristol as needed, and hold DV clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex engineering environments such as defence, maritime, naval or aerospace sectors.
• Ability to assess engineering designs, modifications or technical solutions.
• Experience producing technical reports and evidence-based recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and consultancy skills.
• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline and clearvadence of professional registration desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review submarine system designs, modifications and proposals.
• Provide independent technical assurance and specialist engineering advice to defence customers.
• Identify acoustic and vibration risks and recommend mitigations.
• Produce technical reports, assessments and evidence-based recommendations.
• Support delivery of complex submarine and maritime programmes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across defence.
