Job summary

QinetiQ Limited in Bristol is seeking a Senior Noise and Vibration Engineer to join our defence-focused team. You will review submarine systems, assess design changes, and provide independent technical assurance on acoustic stealth, noise and vibration performance for demanding operational requirements.

The role requires engaging with UK defence stakeholders, delivering technical reports and influencing risk mitigations.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex engineering environments such as defence, maritime, naval, aerospace or nuclear sectors.
• Understanding of mechanical systems, systems engineering or engineering assurance principles.
• Experience reviewing or validating engineering designs, modifications or technical solutions.
• Ability to analyse complex technical information and communicate findings effectively.
• Experience producing technical reports and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and consultancy skills.

Responsibilities

• Review submarine system designs, modifications and engineering proposals.
• Provide independent technical assurance and specialist engineering advice to defence customers.
• Identify acoustic, vibration and platform integration risks and mitigations.
• Produce technical reports, assessments and evidence-based recommendations.
• Support the delivery of complex submarine and maritime programmes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders.
