Job summary

Client Server is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own backend systems built with Node.js and TypeScript. You’ll design scalable APIs and microservices powering gameplay, user and content systems while aligning with architecture standards and tests.

The role emphasizes ownership, performance tuning, and collaboration with DevOps and product teams. UK remote work is supported, with visa eligibility and strong career progression in a scaling tech environment.

Qualifications

• Strong backend software engineering experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience with Kafka and Event Driven Architectures.
• Good knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs and scalable system architecture.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Familiar with DevOps, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
• Familiar with containerisation (Docker), cloud services (AWS), and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
• Comfortable taking ownership of projects and mentoring junior team members.
• Collaborative and pragmatic with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver high-quality backend code and features using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Design, implement and extend robust APIs and microservices for gameplay, user management and content systems.
• Support backend system performance, reliability and uptime with tests and observability.
