Job summary

Keoghs in Birmingham seeks a Lead File Handler in the Military Disease department, specialising in NIHL and related disease cases. The role includes supervising a mini team, managing files, bills and strategy to progress matters profitably.

You will supervise workflows, develop team capabilities, and liaise with insurers and insureds while ensuring adherence to court timetables and SRA standards. The position is based in Birmingham with standard office hours.

Qualifications

• Technically proficient in NIHL disease cases.
• Experience supervising a mini team.
• Ability to use own initiative.
• Effective negotiator with good listening and verbal communication.
• Strong IT skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review documents and prepare reports on own files.
• Supervise team reports and files.
• Develop team competency framework and strategy.
• Support strategy meetings and relay updates.
• Create guidance documents for the team.
• Handle disclosure processes and review evidence.
• Conduct investigations with insured and obtain witness statements.
• Instruct Experts and coordinate with Insurers and Insureds.
• Attend conferences and trials and manage routine correspondence.
• Ensure adherence to court timetables and SRA Regulations.
