Job summary

IntaPeople is seeking a Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer for a permanent, on-site role in West Wales. You will own the core IT infrastructure, designing, maintaining and improving enterprise network environments to ensure high performance, resilience and security across business-critical systems.

Key duties include designing LAN/WAN/WLAN and VPN architectures, configuring routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers, leading upgrade projects, and implementing secure remote access.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing large-scale enterprise network environments.
• Strong understanding of routing and core network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
• Deep knowledge of network security principles and technologies.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs and encryption standards.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere.
• Strong Windows Server administration experience.
• Exposure to containerisation technologies would be beneficial.
• Experience working within structured IT service environments.

Responsibilities

• Designing and maintaining enterprise-level network architecture including LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN
• Ensuring high availability, performance and scalability across network services
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex network and infrastructure issues
• Managing and configuring network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers
• Leading infrastructure upgrades, migrations and improvement projects
• Implementing secure remote access solutions using VPN, IPsec, SSL/TLS and SSH
• Managing network security controls including firewall policies, IDS/IPS, encryption and PKI
• Monitoring network performance, capacity and security, identifying opportunities for optimisation
• Supporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Managing patching, system updates and configuration backups
• Producing and maintaining technical documentation
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
• Supporting incident response and participating in on-call support where required
