Job summary

Experis is recruiting a Network & Systems Engineer for an on-site role in Watford. You will support and maintain Cisco network infrastructure and Windows Server / Active Directory environments across on-prem and cloud, with a strong emphasis on security and Azure integration.

Candidates should have 5+ years of relevant experience, hands-on Cisco expertise (CCNP-level preferred), robust troubleshooting skills, and the ability to collaborate with IT and third-party suppliers to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent network/infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on Cisco networking knowledge, CCNP level preferred.
• Strong Windows Server and Active Directory experience.
• Good firewall knowledge.
• Experience with Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Broad enterprise infrastructure experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable remaining technically hands-on.
• CCNP qualification would be beneficial; practical Cisco experience is key.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Cisco network Infrastructure
• Provide 3rd line support across server and network environments
• Support Windows Server and Active Directory technologies
• Support Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
• Manage and troubleshoot firewalls and wider network security technologies
• Support backup, recovery and core infrastructure services
• Investigate incidents and complete root-cause analysis
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, projects and continuous improvement activity
• Work closely with wider IT teams and third-party suppliers when required
