Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Network Planner - Occupancy to develop and maintain occupancy schedules and manage their delivery through National Highways teams or third party partners. You will collate network occupancy data accurately to support road space pace bookings while minimising disruption to customers and maximising operational delivery.

The role is based from Exeter/Bristol and will involve proactive liaison with regional Operations and wider stakeholders to optimise network

Qualifications

• Experience in highway maintenance or technical administration.
• Familiar with road space planning procedures and systems.
• Proficiency in producing documents, spreadsheets and management reports.

Responsibilities

• Proactively analyse the effectiveness of existing plans and arrangements to meet service levels and identify opportunities for improvement; elevate risks and issues affecting delivery.
• Liaise with regional Operations colleagues and wider stakeholders to optimise network availability and minimise impact of events on customers.
• Deliver timely engagement and updates to stakeholders regarding network occupancy, including management reports and lessons learnt.
• Ensure information, documents and guidance are kept up to date and accessible to regional teams.
• Lead management of Abnormal Loads and Utilities requests in the region, ensuring procedures are followed and stakeholders informed.

At National Highways we're looking for a Network Planner - Occupancy to undertake the development and maintenance of occupancy schedules and manage their delivery through National Highways teams or third party partners. You will be tasked with undertaking the timely and accurate collation and recording of network occupancy, in order to ensure that road space pace bookings can be managed in a way that minimises disruption to customers and maximises operational delivery. This role will be based from our Exeter/Bristol office. What you'll be leading on

• To proactively analyse the effectiveness of existing plans and arrangements in meeting service level expectations and identify opportunities for improvement; elevate risks and issues that affect delivery.
• To proactively liaise with regional Operations colleagues (e.g. Service Delivery and Scheme Delivery) and wider internal and external stakeholders to optimise network availability and minimise the impact of planned and unplanned events on customers.
• Deliver timely and accurate engagement, communications and updates to stakeholders regarding network occupancy including preparation of management reports, debriefs and lessons learnt
• To ensure that any relevant information, documents, materials, service delivery manuals, requirements and guidance are kept up to date and accessible to the wider regional teams.
• To undertake management of Abnormal Loads and Utilities requests in the region, ensuring relevant procedures are followed, impacts managed and stakeholders informed. Experience of road space planning procedures and systems
• Health and safety legislation, regulations, working practices and procedures Functional /
• Previous experience in highway maintenance and/or technical administration
• Proficiency in a range of office software products to enable production / maintenance of documents, spreadsheets and management reports
• Excellent communications skills
