Job summary

Essex & Kent Police is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our Network Services Team, supporting policing across Kent and Essex. You will manage and develop network infrastructure, address security threats, and handle voice-related systems, with occasional travel across the counties.

The role offers flexible/home-based working, with a 37-hour week (Mon‑Fri) and an on-call 1 in 4 rota paid. Starting salary is £41,856, with a potential rise to £47,505.

Qualifications

• Proven and demonstrable network experience in a policing IT environment.
• Experience identifying threats and mitigating network security risks.
• Experience working in a 3rd line support role.
• Firewall and/or voice systems experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide network infrastructure support and development across the Kent/Essex estates.
• Address network security threats and vulnerabilities and maintain security posture.
• Collaborate across security, voice, data and networking services with on-site and remote teams.
