Job summary

Warwickshire Police is seeking a Network Engineer in Leek Wootton to maintain and develop network infrastructure, both physical and virtual, to meet the Digital Services Directorate's requirements. You will support day-to-day operations and design new technical solutions while driving continuous improvement and partnering with suppliers.

The role requires SME-level knowledge of Cisco, Azure/AWS, SD-WAN, and monitoring tools, with experience in ITSM and technical design artefacts.

Qualifications

• Substantial knowledge of Cisco, Avaya telephony, Azure, AWS, zScaler, SolarWinds and Sentinel.
• Experience with network monitoring and supplier management.
• Strong knowledge of SD-WAN and VLAN Azure vWan.
• Strong knowledge of static and dynamic routing.
• Awareness of ISO 20000 (Service Management) and ITSM.
• Authoring of technical design documents and service artefacts.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the forces network infrastructure for daily operations and new solutions.
• Act as network subject matter expert, providing guidance and design review.
• Ensure compliance with industry and statutory standards.
• Understand business requirements, collect data, deliver analysis and options.
• Drive continuous improvement and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Balance service delivery with cost considerations and risk mitigation.
• Manage changes and quality assurance for existing systems.
• Represent Warwickshire Police and Digital Services in meetings and partnerships.
• Collaborate with MSPs and suppliers on reporting solutions.
• Undertake other duties commensurate with role and participate in health and safety policy.
