Job summary

UK Home Office is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to provide technical support and expertise within Network Operations, focusing on rapid isolation, stabilisation, and resolution of high-impact network incidents across critical domains such as Wireless, LAN, SD-WAN, Firewall, and Law Enforcement Networks.

You will engage with Technical Architects to translate designs into operational systems, act as a technical expert for Incident, Problem, and Change support, and mentor junior engineers

Qualifications

• Experience in network design, switching, routing, firewalling and load balancing.
• Proven ability to deliver complex technologies on time and within budget.
• Ability to diagnose root causes by breaking problems into parts.
• Provide technical guidance and performance management support.
• Build partnerships across teams and understand wider organisational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide incident, problem, and change support for networks.
• Develop high-quality runbooks and technical documentation.
• Coach and uplift Network Operations Engineers.
