Job summary

SHI UK is seeking a highly skilled network engineer to join a US-based team and help scale operations. You will work on maintenance, upgrades, and implementing security configurations across the converged network infrastructure.

The role requires 5+ years of experience with Cisco, firewall, and wireless technologies, plus strong communication skills. This is a hybrid/remote role with travel to SHI UK sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience implementing data and converged network infrastructure (802.1x, vPC, VXLAN, STP/OSPF/BGP, LAN/WAN/Wireless).
• In‑depth knowledge of Cisco IOS, NXOS, PANOS, STP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, ACLs.
• Experience with Datacenter virtualization and cloud networking (Azure or AWS).
• Experience with Cisco and similar VOIP telephony infrastructure; 802.11 wireless knowledge.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs and patches.
• Maintain network standards, policies, and best practices for reliability and security.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement innovative network solutions.
• Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues to maximize uptime.
• Use network tools for administration, maintenance, automation, and reporting.
• Provide onsite support for network project implementations and changes.
