Job summary

Data Careers is seeking an experienced Network Engineer in Worcester to join a growing, engineering-led technology business. The hybrid role involves designing, implementing and supporting enterprise networks across LAN, WAN, wireless and security, with customer-facing projects and technical documentation.

You will contribute to design and delivery across varied environments, participate in on-call rotations and collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers.

Qualifications

• CCNP-level knowledge or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Good routing and switching knowledge including OSPF/BGP/EIGRP and QoS.
• Hands-on firewall and VPN experience, ideally Cisco ASA/FTD.
• Wireless experience, ideally Cisco Catalyst and Meraki.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Confident communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing Cisco network solutions across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and security.
• Configuring and supporting routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs.
• Working with Cisco ASA/FTD, routing protocols and switching technologies.
• Supporting customer projects from design through to delivery.
• Producing clear technical documentation.
• Acting as an escalation point for complex network issues.
• Supporting network assessments, capacity planning and PoC work.
• Working with internal teams, customers and third-party suppliers.
• Participating in an on-call rota, typically every 6-8 weeks.
