Job summary

Digital Waffle in Leicester, UK is seeking a hands-on Senior Cisco Network Engineer to be the technical escalation point for an experienced infrastructure team, guiding complex Cisco networking challenges and shaping a business-critical network estate.

You will support thousands of endpoints and a large Cisco estate, design, implement, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN/Wireless solutions, lead upgrades and projects, and mentor engineers across the Cisco stack.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cisco routing and switching experience.
• Enterprise LAN/WAN/Wireless networking expertise.
• Hands-on BGP, OSPF, EIGRP in production.
• Strong network security practices.
• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certification.
• Experience with FMC, ISE, ISE-PIC, Catalyst and Wireless.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise with thousands of endpoints.
• Ability to act as senior escalation point and lead engineers.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior technical escalation point for Network and Infra Engineers.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and guidance across Cisco estate.
• Configure, maintain and optimise Cisco network infrastructure.
• Design, implement and troubleshoot LAN, WAN and Wireless solutions.
• Lead resolution of high-level incidents and provide 3rd line support.
• Deliver network upgrades, migrations and projects.
• Strengthen resilience, performance and security.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on projects.
