Job summary

Wanstor Limited in London hybrid role seeks a Network Engineer specializing in Fortinet to design, implement and secure our managed networks. You will own Fortinet-led environments and collaborate with customers to translate needs into reliable network solutions.

The role covers LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, SD‑WAN, and firewall management, with focus on troubleshooting, documentation and cross-team coordination within an MSP setting.

Qualifications

• Strong Fortinet and FortiGate expertise with hands-on skills.
• Solid background in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, NAT and security.
• Experience with LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs and SD-WAN environments.
• Ability to engage customers and translate technical issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve a Fortinet-led network environment.
• Lead network projects from requirements to handover.
• Configure, manage and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls (policies, VPNs, routing, security).
• Work across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, switching and routing.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and diagnose deep network issues.
• Identify weaknesses and improvement opportunities across the network.
• Communicate technical issues and recommendations to stakeholders.

A Network Engineer develops, optimises and securely maintains Wanstor managed networks. Excellent troubleshooting, planning and customer facing skills are key to efficiently reduce resolution times, deliver projects on time and build relationships with senior stakeholders.

The role requires expert knowledge of the LAN/WLAN & WAN technologies & products to meet customer requirements.

As part of a highly specialised team, you will need to mentor/consult customers and internal teams the network portfolio.

What You'll Do

• Own, support and continually improve a Fortinet-led network environment
• Take the technical lead on network projects, from initial requirements and design through to implementation and handover
• Configure, manage and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls, including policies, VPNs, routing, security profiles and connectivity
• Work across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, switching, routing and firewalling
• Lead complex troubleshooting and resolve network issues that require deeper technical investigation
• Identify weaknesses, risks and opportunities for improvement across the network estate
• Work directly with customer stakeholders, translating technical issues and recommendations into clear, practical advice
• Own technical changes and ensure they're properly planned, tested, documented and communicated
• Produce and maintain network documentation, diagrams, configurations and technical standards
• Support network upgrades, migrations, refreshes and wider infrastructure projects
• Work alongside Wanstor's wider technical teams and third parties where projects cross networking, cloud, security or infrastructure

What You'll Need

• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies, particularly FortiGate firewalls
• Good knowledge of Fortinet security, VPN and SD-WAN capabilities
• Strong understanding of core networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, NAT and network security
• Strong routing and switching knowledge
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting LAN, WAN and wireless networks
• Confidence diagnosing complex network and connectivity issues from end to end
• Experience delivering network changes, upgrades, migrations or implementation projects
• Comfortable working directly with customers and senior stakeholders
• Able to take a requirement or problem, work out the best approach and own it through to completion
• Strong documentation skills and an organised approach to change
• Experience within an MSP or customer-facing IT environment would be highly beneficial
