Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to own 3rd/4th line escalations within a Fortinet-focused environment. You will drive proactive improvements, lead issue resolution, and strengthen customer networks across FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSD-WAN, and FortiSASE estates.

The role demands SD-WAN proficiency, Fortinet expertise, and a proactive mindset. Hybrid work pattern applies with on-site Wednesdays and remote work other days, including

• Deep Fortinet expertise and hands-on Fortinet stack experience.

Responsibilities

• Own 3rd and 4th line escalations across the Fortinet estate and act as the senior technical authority on the team.
• Drive proactive support, identify recurring issues, run BAU improvement projects, and reduce ticket volume.
• Manage and support FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSD-WAN, and FortiSASE environments.
• Support SD-WAN deployments and ongoing management across the customer base.
• VPN configuration, management, and troubleshooting across the estate.
• Use LogicMonitor or PRTG for network monitoring and performance visibility.
• Support the project team when required, dip into project delivery alongside BAU.
• Contribute to a staggered shift pattern, 7am-5:30pm across a team of six.

Skills/Must Have:

• Deep Fortinet expertise, FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and SD-WAN hands-on experience
• SD-WAN experience essential, Fortinet SD-WAN preferred, Meraki or HPE Aruba Silverpeak also considered
• Consultant or senior engineer background happy to step into a senior support-focused role
• Proactive mindset, you look for root causes and fix them, not just close the ticket
• VPN configuration and troubleshooting experience across the Fortinet stack
• LogicMonitor or PRTG monitoring platform experience beneficial
• Fortinet NSE5 certification preferred, other NSE certs considered
• Comfortable in a staggered shift environment, 7am-5:30pm rotated across the team

Working Pattern:

• Hybrid: Wednesday in the office, rest from home
• Staggered shifts: 7am-5:30pm across a team of six
• Potential on-call element
