Job summary

BBS Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Neighbourhood Officer - Housing for our client based in Slough. The role provides a comprehensive housing management service across a defined area and portfolio of homes, focusing on tenancy management and resident engagement.

You will handle ASB, rent recovery support, court files, estate management, budgets, and partnership work with agencies to deliver improvements and ensure inclusive, accessible services for residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive housing management service for a defined geographical area and portfolio of homes.
• Manage estates and tenancies, including tenancy breaches, lease issues, garage sites, communal services, caretaking and estate inspections.
• Conduct new tenant visits, tenancy sign-ups, tenancy support visits and tenancy audits.
• Monitor introductory and flexible tenancies in accordance with housing policies, procedures and legislation.
• Manage and monitor void properties, working with internal and external teams to minimise delays and rent loss.
• Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour (ASB), harassment, complaints and tenancy-related incidents, taking appropriate enforcement or legal action where required.
• Work closely with rent recovery teams to support residents at risk of legal action and address rent-related issues.
• Prepare witness statements and court files and represent the organisation in County Court proceedings where possession or enforcement action is required.
• Request and monitor responsive maintenance and ensure housing and environmental services are delivered to a high standard.
• Support the delivery of housing capital, environmental improvement and neighbourhood improvement programmes.
• Manage estate management expenditure, monitor budgets and administer resident recharges in accordance with financial procedures.
• Work with residents to develop and deliver neighbourhood improvement plans that reflect the needs and characteristics of the local area.
• Ensure services are inclusive and accessible, particularly for vulnerable residents.
• Work with internal teams, external agencies, community groups and other partners to resolve resident and neighbourhood issues.
• Provide opportunities for residents to influence service delivery, policies, standards and performance.
