Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Associate Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children to provide expert safeguarding advice, lead on training, and support clinical staff across hospital sites. The role emphasizes trauma-informed approaches, professional supervision, and multi-agency collaboration.

The post requires extensive safeguarding experience, academic and professional credentials, and a proactive, reflective practice to ensure the voice of the child remains central

Qualifications

• Active registration with the NMC or HCPC.
• UK recognised degree in a healthcare profession.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and revalidation.
• Experience working in safeguarding children.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based safeguarding advice and consultation to Trust staff.
• Attend strategy meetings and advise across the Trust on children's safeguarding needs.
• Lead on safeguarding training development and delivery within the Trust.
• Offer safeguarding supervision across the Trust and deputise for the Named Nurse when needed.
• Develop a trauma-informed strategy and contribute to policy and audit work.
