Job summary

NHS Jobs in Gloucester is seeking an Associate Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children, Band 7, to advise Trust staff on safeguarding concerns, attend strategy meetings, and advocate for care-experienced young people.

You will lead on safeguarding policy reviews, deliver training, supervise staff, and ensure timely referrals with clear, accurate documentation across information governance standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding of children.
• Ability to participate in multi-agency safeguarding.
• Strong documentation and information governance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based safeguarding advice to Trust staff.
• Attend strategy meetings and contribute to multi-agency discussions.
• Advise staff about children in care and care-experienced young people.
• Promote respectful language and communication across the trust.
• Review and update safeguarding policies.
• Contribute to the annual Section 11 submission.
• Deliver safeguarding training and teach new staff.
• Provide safeguarding supervision across the trust.
• Deputise for the Named Nurse when required for learning reviews.
• Use escalation policy for professional challenges with other agencies.
• Lead on and participate in safeguarding audits.
