Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is seeking an enthusiastic Senior MSK Physiotherapist to support elective orthopaedics and enhanced discharge processes. The post covers outpatient services at Royal Preston and Chorley & South Ribble, with a view to evolving service delivery including seven-day working.

You will be autonomous in managing MSK outpatients, supervise juniors, and contribute to training and audits.

Qualifications

• Experience as an NHS Physiotherapist with MDT collaboration.
• Knowledge of a broad range of MSK conditions and evidence-based practice.
• Experience supervising physiotherapy assistants or students.
• Understanding of clinical audit and outcome measures.

Responsibilities

• Autonomous practitioner managing own MSK outpatients caseload with minimal supervision.
• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for MSK conditions.
• Support discharge planning from elective orthopaedic pathways.
• Contribute to departmental training and education sessions.
• Mentor junior physiotherapists and students within the department.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with codes of practice.
• Develop communication links with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
