This specialist MSK Physiotherapy post is a new post for Core Therapies to support the elective orthopaedic pathways and enhanced discharge support. Lancashire Teaching Hospitals are working on Elective Recovery, and increasing activity to achieve this is essential. This post will support the predicted increase demand on elective pathways, including musculoskeletal outpatients.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with an aspiration to innovate and improve all aspects of care delivery within the musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy services based across two sites at Royal Preston and Chorley and South Ribble Hospitals. As this is an emerging role, the service will likely evolve. Future delivery could include seven day working and supporting other areas of Core Therapies to maintain business continuity at times of need.
In musculoskeletal outpatients we receive referrals mostly from trauma orthopaedics, fracture clinic, neurosurgery and elective orthopaedics. The successful candidate will be responsible for the clinically reasoned assessment and evidence-based treatment of patients presenting with musculoskeletal pathology. As a Senior Physiotherapist you will be encouraged to develop your clinical skills and to participate in the supervision of junior staff, students and therapy assistants. We have a comprehensive in-service training program and a highly skilled and experienced workforce who can support your development.
The organisation, clinical management structure and culture provide a supported work environment where you can develop your skills and knowledge and play a key role in the delivery of high-quality health care. We have a dedicated Health Academy and learning and development of staff within the trust is very much encouraged and supported.
We have 10000 fantastic people working hard to deliver quality services to our patients. Whatever your role, you help look after 370,000 people in our local area & give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.
Working with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to support our patients & staff, ensuring we keep thriving & delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.
You’ll make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold & help innovate to keep improving things. Everything we do centres around patient care and enhancing their experience which means your role is pivotal and something really to be proud of.
