Job summary

Hastings Direct in London is seeking a Senior Risk Pricing Manager for the Motor portfolio. You will lead end-to-end pricing initiatives, shaping strategies with deep analytics and governance to deliver fair, accurate pricing and sustainable growth.

You’ll work hybrid across London, Bexhill or Leicester, collaborating with Underwriting, Retail, Finance and Analytics teams, and you’ll mentor Pricing Managers and Analysts to raise pricing capability and commercial impact.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in general insurance pricing (preferably UK motor).
• Deep technical expertise in statistical modelling (e.g., GLMs; ML exposure desirable).
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end pricing initiatives.
• Solid understanding of regulatory/governance requirements (GIPP).
• Excellent communication with ability to influence senior leadership.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and deployment of risk pricing strategies across motor portfolio.
• Oversee pricing model development (GLMs, ML) and ensure robustness.
• Governance: ensure regulatory compliance and transparent change controls.
• Stakeholder management with Underwriting, Retail, Finance and Analytics teams.
• Monitor pricing performance and drive improvements post-deployment.
• Develop and mentor Pricing Managers and Senior Analysts.
