Job summary

Hastings Direct, a fast-growing digital general insurer, seeks a Senior Risk Pricing Manager to lead risk pricing strategies for motor across London, Bexhill, and Leicester in a hybrid setup. You will drive segmentation, develop advanced models, and ensure governance and regulatory compliance while collaborating with ExCo and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in general insurance pricing (UK motor).
• Deep technical expertise in statistical modelling (GLMs; ML desirable).
• Proven track record of delivering end-to-end pricing initiatives.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and governance requirements (GIPP).
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at senior leadership level.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of risk pricing strategies across car portfolio with measurable commercial impact.
• Oversee development of pricing models ensuring robustness and alignment with business goals.
• Ensure pricing activity meets governance standards and regulatory requirements; manage RAC submissions.
• Partner with Underwriting, Retail, Finance and Analytics to align pricing with business goals and leadership.
• Monitor pricing performance and identify trends; optimise models post-deployment.
• Manage and develop Pricing team; provide coaching and career development.
