Job summary

Hastings Direct seeks a Senior Risk Pricing Manager for our Motor portfolio across London/Bexhill/Leicester, adopting a hybrid working model. You will shape pricing strategy, oversee advanced modelling, and drive governance compliance to ensure fair, precise pricing aligned with business goals.

You will lead a team of Pricing Managers and analysts, collaborating with Underwriting, Retail, Finance and Analytics to deliver measurable commercial impact and continuous improvement in pricing accuracy.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in general insurance pricing, preferably UK motor.
• Deep technical expertise in statistical modelling (GLMs; exposure to ML desirable).
• Proven track record of delivering end-to-end pricing initiatives.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and governance requirements (e.g., GIPP).
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at senior leadership level.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of risk pricing strategies across car portfolio and drive pricing improvements.
• Oversee development of pricing models and ensure they are robust and well-documented.
• Ensure pricing activity meets governance standards and regulatory requirements.
