Job description

Job Description

CompCare, part of the Rubix Group, specializes in outsourced air, oil-free, and large compressed air systems for clients across a wide range of industries. We are market leaders in variable speed drive (VSD) conversions or retrofits, heat recovery packages, and multi-station control systems. We look after all aspects of your compressed air system from design, supply, installation, service, and repair.

The purpose of the role is to present a professional, friendly, and efficient service to CompCare customers.

Main Tasks and Deliverables:

  1. Scheduled preventative maintenance and ad hoc servicing of compressed air equipment and ancillary equipment.
  2. Attend breakdowns and reported compressor faults, diagnose mechanical or electrical faults, and resolve/repair where possible.
  3. Identify parts needed and liaise with suppliers if required.
  4. Commission new compressed air equipment and ancillaries.
  5. Work in a team of technicians.
  6. Participate in the mobile service technician on-call rota.
  7. Look for and propose improvements to operational processes, seeking feedback from all colleagues on efficiencies.
  8. Undertake problem-solving for customers' ad hoc technical issues or requirements, working with customers to propose technical solutions.
  9. Timely use of the service scheduling system to report on service visits and record parts/labour/mileage.
  10. Survey new customer sites to draw up a list of all compressed air equipment details and part numbers for service consumables.
  11. Perform Air Quality Testing.
  12. Perform basic electrical testing related to compressor controls.
  13. Work with the Service Coordinator to assist in tracking parts used, returned, and incorrect.
  14. Write Method Statements and undertake Risk Assessments.
  15. Maintain company vehicle and adhere to driver & vehicle management procedures.

Health & Safety:

  1. Actively engage with CompCare Health & Safety policies and procedures and be responsible.
  2. Be aware of and always apply customer Health and Safety regulations on customer sites.
  3. Adhere to CompCare Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

Skills and Experience:

  1. The ability to work without supervision is essential; most service jobs are attended by one technician.
  2. The ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner, explaining issues and how they may be resolved.
  3. Being familiar with the correct use of lifting gear (slings, eyebolts, frames) would be advantageous.
  4. Knowledge of three-phase electrics.
  5. Full clean UK driving license.
  6. Computer literacy.
  7. Able to travel across CompCare's region.
  8. Able to participate in the call-out rota.
  9. It is important that the candidate in this role has a strong understanding of the CompCare offer and value proposition, with the ability to articulate this to a variety of stakeholders.
  10. They must always be committed to delivering in line with our Group values:
  • Act with integrity
  • Own & take action
  • Stay curious
  • Never settle
  • Embrace perspectives
