Job summary

MET Recruitment UK Ltd is seeking a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in West Bromwich, West Midlands. The role combines ownership of the AML/CTF program with board-level support and a flexible, hybrid working pattern.

You will lead the organisation’s anti-money laundering approach, ensuring controls are robust, compliant, and embedded in daily operations, with strong collaboration across management and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Proven AML or financial crime compliance experience.
• Knowledge of Money Laundering Regulations 2017, POCA and Terrorism Act 2000.
• Gambling industry familiarity preferred.
• Willingness to work toward ICA certificate/diploma.

Responsibilities

• Receive and assess SARs, and decide on reporting to the National Crime Agency.
• Own and maintain AML/CTF risk assessments, policies and procedures.
• Ensure controls comply with ML Regulations 2017, POCA and Gambling Commission.
• Oversee customer due diligence, EDD, source of funds and ongoing monitoring.
• Review and sign off EDD cases and decisions to suspend or end relationships.
• Oversee sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening.
• Develop and deliver AML training for staff and managers.
• Produce regular reports for senior management and the board.
• Act as point of contact for Gambling Commission and authorities.
