Job summary

Hastings Direct in the UK is seeking an experienced Lead MLOps Engineer to design, build and operate the ML platform that powers pricing and data products. You will lead cross-functional teams and own end-to-end lifecycle from feature generation to deployment and monitoring.

Based hybrid across London/Leicester/Bexhill locations, you’ll drive observability, CI/CD, and cloud-native engineering while delivering measurable business value through scalable models and data platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating ML solutions in cloud environments.
• Proficient in MLOps tooling: CI/CD, deployment, monitoring.
• Strong SQL skills and large-scale data platform experience.
• Familiar with software engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on ML platform architecture.
• Develop automated workflows for feature engineering and deployment.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to operationalise models.
• Establish ML observability and governance practices.
• Improve reliability and scalability of ML/data platforms.
• Work with cloud-native tech and IaC for ML workloads.
• Present solutions to engineering and commercial stakeholders.
• Evaluate new technologies and shape engineering standards.
