Allianz UK Personal is seeking a Lead Data Engineer (DevOps/MLOps) to shape our MLOps capability in a hybrid role based in London, Bristol or Bournemouth. Lead the delivery of cloud-based Data Science products, mentor engineers, and drive best practices across CI/CD, containerisation and deployment.

You will write production-grade Python, collaborate with stakeholders, and influence architectural decisions while advancing our MLOps maturity and governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in a Data/ML/Platform Engineering role, with strong MLOps expertise.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for production pipelines and services.
• Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS or GCP) to design & build ML products and pipelines.
• Hands‑on coding and sense for scalable architectures and deployment practices.
• Ability to mentor Data Engineers from graduate to senior levels.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive adoption of MLOps standards across CI/CD, containers, monitoring and deployment.
• Write high quality Python for production pipelines serving billions of requests.
• Lead delivery and continuous improvement of Data Science products to support MLOps.
• Mentor and develop Data Engineers across seniority levels.
• Collaborate with architects and external experts from Microsoft Azure.
• Design, build and enhance scalable data workflows and governance.
• Champion Data Science and MLOps best practices across the business.
