Job summary

Trainline in London is seeking a Senior MLOps Engineer to shape how we operate AI/ML systems, building and governing infrastructure behind our internal platforms and customer-facing products.

You will lead technical direction, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multiple teams to deploy reliable ML solutions. The role offers a hybrid work model with office time and strong career growth.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with IaC and CI/CD tooling, ideally Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with containerised workloads using Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience productionising AI products, including agentic systems and AIOps tooling.

Responsibilities

• Take a leading technical role in helping teams across Trainline adopt and operate ML and AI tooling as the technology evolves
• Support AI infrastructure, ensuring governance, monitoring and automated deployment
• Build and drive adoption of a standard way to deploy ML and AI products across products
• Automate modernisation of services, addressing security vulnerabilities in libraries and dependencies
• Strengthen MLOps foundations by improving cost tracking and standardising practices
• Contribute to technical strategy and make well-reasoned decisions where needed
• Communicate technical decisions clearly and prioritise ML team requests
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge through docs and enablement
