Job summary

Spire Bushey Hospital is seeking a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Microbiology team on a 6-month fixed term contract. The post holder will perform a range of microbiological techniques to support the clinical diagnosis of infectious diseases in line with SOPs.

The role includes contributing to training, helping maintain a high-quality service, and working the department shift rota with weekend and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with no restrictions on practice.
• Experience in Microbiology.
• IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Medical Microbiology or working towards.
• Awareness of serological and molecular techniques.
• Experience of verification and validation processes.
• 2 years' experience post state registration is essential.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of microbiological techniques to support the clinical diagnosis of infectious diseases, in line with SOPs.
• Contribute to the delivery of training in line with the departmental training policy.
• Participate in the departmental shift rota, including weekend, bank-holiday and on-call duties.
