Job summary

Spire Bushey Hospital is seeking a Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join the Pathology Department on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role involves work across Haematology, Biochemistry and Blood Transfusion, supporting a single departmental on-call service.

You will be HCPC registered with post-qualification experience and strong communication skills, working a 37.5-hour week with shifts including 09:00-17:00 and 12:00-20:00.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with no restrictions on practice.
• Experience in Blood Transfusion, Haematology or Chemical Pathology.
• 2 years’ post-qualification experience is essential.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organisation, management and development of laboratory services.
• Liaise with Laboratory Consultant and Pathology Manager to ensure high-quality service.
• Analyse, interpret and report information related to laboratory work.
• Develop and evaluate movement of laboratory specimens and blood.
• Assist with research and development.
• Provide and receive complex information.
