Job Description:

CK Group is working in partnership with a leading UK life sciences biotechnology company to recruit an experienced Bacteriologist with expertise in lab start-ups, to join their site in London on a permanent basis.

The Company:

An industry-leading clinical development services business based in London.

The Role:

• Primarily laboratory-based, providing scientific expertise in microbiology assay development and validation.
• Mentoring and developing scientific staff, conducting study plans, report reviews, and data analysis.
• Supporting and owning delivery of R&D projects for clients.
• Ensuring compliance with GCP and GCLP standards.

Other Responsibilities:

• Preparing and reviewing study protocols.
• Training and mentoring junior staff.
• Attending conferences and client meetings.

Your Background:

• PhD in a relevant scientific field with post-doc microbiology research experience (ESSENTIAL).
• Expertise in bacterial growth, pathogen biology, and molecular assay development (ESSENTIAL).
• Experience in developing and validating clinical endpoint tests for bacterial infectious diseases.
• Proven ability to set up a microbiology lab from scratch and manage assay development projects.
• Strong microbiology knowledge and experience working in regulated environments (GCP, GCLP).
