The basics:

Job Title: Senior Metrology Engineer – Group Metrology Specialist

Environment: Manufacturing

Location: Hybrid – the company have manufacturing facilities Near to Derby, Durham and Basildon – base location can be flexible to suit.

Pay: up to £60,000

Hours: Mon to Thur 8am to 5pm and Fri - 8am to 1pm

Contracted hours: 40 per week

Holidays and Benefits: 33 days holiday, Xmas shut down, 5% pension, Annual Pay negotiated yearly by the Union.

Overview:

Working as part of a large group, we now require a Senior Metrology Engineer to be the lead subject matter expert for all things metrology across the Group.

The company have x3 UK sites, with manufacturing facilities located in India, China, France and Poland.

The role will be steering metrology to “best practice” – how do we reduce inspection times; how do we standardise metrology across the group.

As the Senior Metrology Engineer you will be tasked to direct the company strategy for metrology, keeping up to date with the latest measuring technology and implementing the best techniques and processes across the group.

The role will involve some travel to understand how each site inspects components and to get a feel for how metrology processes are done across the group.

The ideal candidate / Senior Metrology Engineer may have some of the following experiences, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

• Must be an experienced user of PC-DMIS Software
• Must be an experienced CMM Programmer as you will be the lead specialist in this subject.
• A keen interest in the future of metrology and up to date with the latest measuring techniques
• A confident communicator as you will diagnose and propose new methods of measuring.
• Exposure to automated inspection systems, laser scanners, CT, or non-contact metrology
