Job summary

Nicholas Associates is seeking a Metrology Engineer - Group Metrology / Group CMM Programmer to join our Derby-based manufacturing team in a hybrid role. You will head the metrology department, directing how parts are measured and inspected and choosing software approaches for offline programming.

The ideal candidate has offline programming experience and familiarity with PC-DMIS, plus exposure to automated inspection systems and non-contact metrology. Commutable from Derby and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Previous experience offline programming.
• Experience with PC-DMIS software beneficial.
• Exposure to automated inspection systems, laser scanners, CT, or non-contact metrology.

Responsibilities

• Lead decisions on the best methods to measure and inspect machined components.
• Program offline for metrology systems and lead on-site metrology activities.
• Be the onsite lead for all metrology-related technical decisions.

The basics

• Job Title: Metrology Engineer - Group Metrology / Group CMM Programmer
• Environment: Manufacturing
• Location: Derby / Hybrid - 2/3 days a week at the manufacturing plant based in Derby
• Pay: up to £55,000
• Hours: Mon to Thur 8am to 5pm and Fri - 8am to 1pm
• Contracted hours: 40 per week
• Holidays and Benefits: 33 days holiday, Xmas shut down, 5% pension, Annual Pay negotiated yearly by the Union.

Overview

Working within a first class precision engineering manufacturing environment we now require a CMM Programmer to join the business and head up the Metrology department. As the CMM Programmer you will lead the decisions on the best way to measure and inspect the machined and fabricated components that the company manufacture. Regarding the programming, the company are open to different software to which you will program offline. You will be the lead technical person onsite for all things associated to Metrology.

The ideal candidate

• Previous experience offline programming
• Experienced with PC-DMIS software beneficial
• Exposure to automated inspection systems, laser scanners, CT, or non-contact metrology
