Job summary

Prime Appointments is seeking a Senior Metalwork Supervisor in Basildon to lead daily workshop operations and deliver high-quality bespoke fabrication projects. You will interpret technical drawings, manage workflow and personnel, mentor fabricators and welders, and ensure compliance with H&S standards while liaising with Design and Production teams to meet tight deadlines.

The role requires proven supervisory experience in architectural metalwork and a strong knowledge of sheet metal

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience in bespoke, architectural, or high-end metalwork.
• Advanced ability to read complex engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, welding processes, and workshop machinery.

Senior Metalwork Supervisor

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Location: Basildon, Essex

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.00am - 5.00pm

An established architectural metalwork specialist in Basildon is seeking a Senior Metalwork Supervisor to lead daily workshop operations and deliver high-quality bespoke fabrication projects.

Duties:

• Lead daily workshop operations, managing workflow, labor, and timelines.
• Interpret technical drawings and solve fabrication/assembly challenges.
• Oversee standards to ensure components meet strict architectural specifications.
• Mentor and supervise skilled fabricators and welders.
• Enforce H&S standards while liaising with Design and Production teams.

Key Requirements

• Proven supervisory experience in bespoke, architectural, or high-end metalwork.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal, structural fabrication, MIG/TIG welding, forming, and finishing.
• Advanced capability to read complex engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with workshop machinery (brake press, guillotine) and metals such as mild/stainless steel, brass, and bronze.
