Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of major mechanical and electrical packages. You will lead cost planning, procurement, tendering and contract administration, while engaging with clients and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline.
• Strong experience in MEP Quantity Surveying / Building Services.
• Proven experience handling mechanical and electrical packages end-to-end.
• Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
• MRICS status or commitment towards chartership is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial ownership of MEP packages on major projects.
• Produce cost plans, estimates, budgets and tender docs.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies.
• Manage tender processes, contractor appointments and negotiations.
• Administer NEC and JCT contracts throughout projects.
• Oversee valuations, variations, change control and final accounts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and mitigate.
• Lead value engineering to maximize project value.
• Advise clients on commercial strategy and lifecycle costs.
• Build relationships with clients, contractors and teams.
• Lead commercial meetings and client presentations; mentor junior staff.
