Job description

Leading independent consultancy in the construction and infrastructure sectors, are currently seeking a Senior MEP Estimator to join their team in London.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical systems, BMS, lighting, power, etc.
• Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
• Develop and maintain pricing databases and cost libraries
• Ensure estimates comply with technical and contractual requirements
• Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives during the bid process
• Provide support to the project management team during the pre-construction and delivery phases
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors as necessary
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and technical reviews
• Identify potential risks, opportunities, and alternatives in the estimating process
• Ensure contingency is appropriately factored into cost estimates

Job Requirements:

• Experience in M&E estimating within the construction or infrastructure markets industry
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems within construction
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g. Costex or similar)
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or related field
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., BS7671, CIBSE, NICEIC)
