Job summary

Response Organisation is hiring a Senior Mental Health Support Worker to lead shifts, support residents on their recovery journey, and ensure safe medication practices. This role combines frontline support with mentorship for a compassionate, recovery-focused service.

You will guide teams, support assessments and risk management, and contribute to a positive culture that respects inclusion and collaboration. GCSE English/Maths or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with mental health needs.
• A good understanding of recovery-focused and person-centred practice.
• Experience supporting assessments, referrals or risk management processes.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence to take the lead and support colleagues.
• Commitment to continuous learning and development.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate shifts to ensure high-quality support is delivered.
• Support residents through their recovery journey using a person-centred approach.
• Manage medication processes and ensure safe working practices.
• Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to Support Workers.
• Assist with assessments, support planning and risk management.
• Respond to incidents, safeguarding concerns and complaints when required.
• Promote a positive culture built around respect, collaboration and inclusion.
• Support residents with practical life skills such as budgeting, cooking, travel and tenancy management.
• Encourage access to employment, training, education and community opportunities.
• Champion trauma-informed practice and recovery-focused support.
