Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a medical practitioner registered with the GMC in the UK.
• At least five years post-qualification experience.
• Experience in mortality review or related governance beneficial.
• Ability to explain cause of death to bereaved relatives clearly and sensitively.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent scrutiny of non-coronial deaths.
• Ensure appropriate referral of deaths to the coroner.
• Contribute to improving the service for the bereaved and mortality data.
• Support governance and professional development among Medical Examiner Officers and staff.
• Attend ME/MEO governance and training activities as required.
